Super Sunday Free Family Fundays

Engage in free art-making experiences for the whole family! Drop in between noon and 3 p.m. on the second Sunday of every month.

Clay Pendants: Families will roll out air dry clay into a small slab. They will stamp out a shape and add texture. 

August 13, 2017

Digital Photography: Families will check out a digital camera and take photos of their favorite things around the Arkansas Arts Center.

The Art of Seating: Families will draw their "dream chair." After, they will be invited to enter their design in a juried competition. If their chair is chosen, it will be built and put on display in the Alice Pratt Atrium for the duration of The Art of Seating exhibition.

November 12, 2017

Embossed Foil Charms: Families will cut a shape from chip board and craft foam to cover with heavy duty foil. They will then "emboss" a design into the charm and color with sharpie.

December 10, 2017

Mother Goose: Families will invent three Mother Goose inspired characters using fingerprints. After, they will be invited to develop a nursery rhyme to go with their picture.

Paul Signac Watercolors: Families will create Paul Signac inspired watercolor paintings

February 11, 2018

John Marin Paintings: Families will create John Marin inspired paintings.

March 11, 2018

A Luminous Line: Families will explore different types of lines and different materials to make different lines.

Self-portrait Project: Families will learn to draw faces with focus on proportions and placement.

Scavenger Hunt: Families will follow an art scavenger hunt around the Arkansas Arts Center galleries.
